2016 Atlantic Golf Championship Set for Prince Edward Island

The 2016 Atlantic Golf Championship will make its first visit to Prince Edward Island this summer. Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford will host the regional tournament from August 18-21.

This is the third year of the Championship which brings together some of the best amateur golfers in Atlantic Canada. The tournament was created by the respective Golf Associations of the four Atlantic Provinces. The goal was to create a first class competitive experience for the regions best men, women and senior golfers who will compete over 54 holes for both individual and team titles.

In the lead up to the tournament each provincial golf association will conduct qualifying tournaments to select the 20 players who will represent their Province at Fox Meadow . In 2015 Prince Edward Island won the team portion of the Championships which was held at the Twin Rivers course at the Terra Nova Resort and Golf Community in Port Blanford, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ranked as one of the Best Places to Play with a 4 star rating by Golf Digest, Fox Meadow will present a great test for these skilled amateurs . Only a few minutes from downtown Charlottetown the course offers a natural setting and a spectacular view of the city harbour .
