2010 Senior Results
ROOKIE MOORE COMES THROUGH AT MILL RIVER
The King of Clubs Tour had its final event of the spring session at the Mill River Golf Course on Wednesday June 23rd. This was the first event where poor weather was not an issue. Fifty-two senior golfers played the beautiful Mill River layout under sunny skies and a brisk breeze. Mark Roberts, the Pro-Manager, had everything organized for the 9:00 am shotgun start. The men were enthusiastic to get out on the course under the fine conditions.
At the end of the day, once everyone was in, Gary Moore of Belvedere led the field with a fine score of 76. Gary’s round featured back-to-back 2’s on holes four and five. Right behind him was Steve Ball of Anderson’s Creek with a 77. The next best score was Mike Sullivan of Green Gables with a score of 81.
The Super Senior Division was led by former Provincial team member, Joe Skerry of Mill River, with a score of 82. This nipped out Cliff Goodwin of Summerside who had a score of 83. The best net score of the day was posted by Louis Walsh of Clyde River with a net score of 68. Louis has earned this award for the second week in a row.
This marks the end of the spring session of the King of Clubs Tour. The fall session will start on Tuesday, September 7th at the Dundarave golf course at the Brudenell Resort. The deadline for entry into the Island Coastal Provincial Amateur is Friday, June 25th. A good turnout is expected for this two-day event to crown the PEI Provincial Champions.
